Stanford published the new essay questions for its MBA program starting in 2015, with one question less than last year. Essay A: What matters most to you, and why? Essay B: Why Stanford? Stanford grants a 1,100 overall word allowance for its candidates, and recommends using 650-850 words for the first essay and 250-450 for the second.

The Stanford MSx Program requires three letters of reference, so list a third recommender in your application to be reviewed only by the MSx Program. For the combined application, your answers for both essay questions may not exceed 1,200 words. Address your interest in both the Stanford MSx and MBA programs in Essay B.
